Blog 2: The Allegory of the Cave

The Allegory of the Cave is about people who lived in caves but they knew nothing about the world outside of the cave.  They only saw shadow and had no idea who or what the shadow were.  As Socrates said, "Like ourselves, I replied; and they see only their own shadows, or the shadows of one another, which the fire throws on the opposite wall of the cave?"  This shows how the people in the caves saw the shadows and if they ever saw the light, they don't know what anything looks like and they wouldn't know what they are looking at.
